Lady Georgianna's Ghostly Adventures

Please Note - This event has now finished and this page is for reference only.

In the world of Lady Georgianna, lascivious libertines and immodest maidens sport in the enchanted groves attended by nymphs and celestial zephyrs... Wearing the flamboyant fashions of the age, they perform popular hits from the time of Marie Antoinette and Mad King George.

With voice, harpsichord and cello, we aim to bring to life the songs of the 18th century pleasure garden, interspersed with poetry and readings, for an unforgettable Georgian experience.

AllegraAllegra – Voice

Nobody knows from whence the mysterious Allegra (played by Abigail Seabrook) hails. She appeared one day at a masked ball and it was unclear whether she’d attended as a 'companion' to the Duke, the wench of a sailor or a baroness in disguise. Admired by all, since then she has been the leader in circles of fashion - and of love.

AllegraSignora Storace – Harpsichord

Signora Storace (played by Micaela Schmitz) joined her husband Stephen, a composer and performer at Marylebone pleasure gardens. When he died in a freak fireworks accident, she took over management of 'The Rose', a former bowling green turned pleasure garden. She is particularly renowned for her keyboard playing and her ever famous plum cakes.

Georgianna's Ghostly Adventures

Ghost stories and devilish doings abound in the 1700's on all Hallows Eve, also known as Hollantide or Halloween. We peek back in time to the Castle of Otranto, and back in the 18th century, will the heroine have a vision of her husband to be?
