Hannah
Roper began playing the violin just before her 4th birthday,
soon afterwards commencing studies with Barrie Moore of Malvern Suzuki,
her teacher for nearly 10 years.
Hannah gave her first public performance at Birmingham Cathedral,
aged 9 years and her first professional performance at the 2007 Ross Live! Festival.
In that year she was the youngest entrant to reach the regional finals of the BBC Young Musician of the Year.
Having already achieved distinction at Grade 8 Violin, aged just 10, she also obtained a distinction in the Dip. A.B.R.S.M (Performance) just a few days after her 13th birthday. Hannah has taken part in masterclasses with Tasmin Little and Rachel Podger, with whom she has participated in the Brecon Baroque festival.
In addition to the violin, Hannah enjoys singing and playing the piano. She was the youngest chorus member in the recent Hereford Three Choirs Festival. In her spare time she enjoys art, photography and has flying lessons at Herefordshire Aero Club.
Hannah plays a violin modelled on the 1742 Guarneri del Gesu "Lord Wilton", especially made for her by Herefordshire luthier John Langstaffe.
